Bipartisan House Resolution Introduced Opposing Postal Privatization
Posted by User Not Found on 07/16/18On July 16, Representatives Steve Lynch (D-MA) and Rodney Davis (R-IL) introduced H.Res. 993, a resolution expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the U.S. Postal Service should remain a government entity and not be subjected to privatization. Eight members of Congress, representing both political parties, joined Lynch and Davis on the measure. Although H.Res 993 does not have the force of law, it sends a strong signal to the White House that the President's proposal to privatize the Postal Service will meet strong resistance on Capitol Hill. UPMA members should ask their members of Congress to cosponsor H.Res 993.
